Samsung Galaxy Watch Review - Stylish Smartwatch that is Rich in Features

In addition to producing household electronic devices and smartphones, Samsung also presents wearable devices such as smartwatch and smartband in recent years.

Some time ago, Samsung itself has launched Galaxy Watch in Indonesia. According to Samsung, the latest smartwatch is designed for lifestyle and tracks fitness from its users for a long time.
In terms of design, the Samsung Galaxy Watch looks stylish with a circle like an analog clock. The screen glass itself uses Corning Gorilla Glass DX + glass which can minimize scratches.
But the glass itself is made in the direction of the frame so that it is minimally affected by other objects when used. Interestingly, the upper frame of this smartwatch can be rotated which allows users to make menu and application changes. Samsung Galaxy Watch already has a frame with material from Stainless Steel aka Steel so that it makes it anti-rust. While the strap or strap it has uses silicone material that makes me feel comfortable when the Galaxy Watch has been pinned on the wrist.

Interestingly, the strap of the Galaxy Watch is easily dismantled so that if I get bored I can replace it with a rope that has a motif and color that is more interesting than the default version. Incidentally, I got the opportunity to test the Samsung Galaxy Watch, which is Midnight Black with a diameter of 42 millimeters, almost a month. For this diameter variant has a width of 1.2 inches (30 mm) with a resolution of 360 x 360 pixels. You could say this resolution is standard for smartwatches born in 2018. While the screen technology uses Circular Super AMOLED sharp and clear when seen by the eye.

Interestingly, the brightness or brightness of this smartwatch can be adjusted according to the needs of its users so it is very convenient when used for indoor or outdoor activities. The screen will rest when the Galaxy Watch detects no movement in the hand. But if I move my hand to see the smartwatch, then the screen will automatically reactivate. At the bottom of the smartwatch is a heart detector that can measure the heart to the level of stress from its users

Performance
This smartwatch uses the Exynos 9110 Dual-core 1.15 GHz chipset, 768 MB RAM, and 4 GB internal storage. With this hardware combination, Samsung claims that the Galaxy Watch can run smoothly when used in everyday use. I also feel that this smartwatch can run smoothly every time I use it, even moving animations between menus and applications can run smoothly without lag at all. The Tizen 4.0 operating system that is present on the smartwatch has an interface that is just right and makes it easy for me to switch menus according to my needs, ranging from clock display, fitness tracking, notifications, and much more.

The Galaxy Watch's battery charging system uses wireless charging which allows the smartwatch to only be placed directly on the wireless charger pad and will automatically show a percentage indicator of charging. You could say charging the battery using the wireless charging feature is longer than the cable. This is evident from Galaxy Watch which takes 2.5 hours - 3 hours for battery charging from condition 0 to 100%. With a battery charging system like this, inevitably this smartwatch user must carry a wireless charger pad while traveling out of town or abroad for a long time.

Battery
The Galaxy Watch is equipped with a 270 mAh battery promised by Samsung to last 5 days in normal use. For this reason, I try to run several activities to measure fitness, although it is more often used as a clock. In addition to tracking fitness activities and becoming a clock, this Samsung Galaxy Watch can also be used to present social networking message notifications, telephone, and SMS from smartphones, play music, and much more.

Based on my use in daily activities, this Samsung Galaxy Watch can last around 2 to 3 days in just one battery charge. You could say the durability of the Galaxy Watch is long enough as a smartwatch with many features.
Feature

Over time, the smartwatch presented by Samsung increasingly has complete features, especially on the Galaxy Watch with a myriad of features of fitness activities. Interestingly, this smartwatch is able to capture 37 fitness activities at once such as running, walking, cycling, swimming, Treadmills, heavy equipment, mountain climbing, Plank, and many more whose data will be synchronized to the Samsung Health application.

Galaxy Watch will also actively record steps, calories, heart rate, and sleep patterns as long as the smartwatch is used. Even this device also has an Altimeter sensor which can record altitude and Barometer which can record air pressure.

Not to forget, GPS that is present on this smartwatch has good accuracy when users are running normally and doing sports activities. In addition, the Galaxy Watch can display information on the location, weather, humidity, and ultraviolet rays where the user is located.

To make fitness activities carried out by users more enjoyable, Samsung has also pinned a music player feature that is already present in the Galaxy Watch even though it is not connected to a smartphone.

Samsung Galaxy Watch itself has been equipped with a variety of Watch Faces (watch display) by default which can be replaced on Smatwatch directly or using the Galaxy Wear application. But if users are bored with the default Watch Faces that is already available, they can download Watch Faces made by other people through the Galaxy Wear application, both paid and free

With so many choices, I can choose interesting Watch Faces. I also found some Watch Faces with good looks, lots of functionality, and have animations.

The application notification feature, telephone, and SMS that are present on the Galaxy Watch is very helpful when users are on their way or far away with a smartphone. Furthermore, Samsung also embed the Galaxy Watch search feature so that when activated, the smartwatch will make a loud noise for easy tracking. Samsung itself has presented the Samsung Pay feature that allows digital payment transactions through Galaxy Watch.

Companion Application
This Samsung Galaxy Watch requires two applications at the same time that function to connect with a smartphone and bring up tracking data on fitness activities carried out. The first application needed to connect between smartwatch and smartphone is Galaxy Wear. Later the smartwatch can be connected to a smartphone using Galaxy Wear with a Bluetooth connection
After the application is installed, the user will be able to set the Watch Face (clock display), notifications, applications, widgets, sound, vibration, display brightness, find out the remaining battery information, RAM capacity, Galaxy Watch storage capacity, and much more.

If the Galaxy Watch is already connected to a smartphone using this application, there will also be an additional menu for displaying notifications from mobile phones on the smartwatch. Furthermore, a second application called Samsung Health that serves to track fitness and daily activities, starting from steps, exercises, heart rate, stress levels, sleep, and much more.
Both of these applications themselves can be downloaded and installed from the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store. In other words, the Galaxy Watch can be connected with Android and iOS operating systems (aka iPhone and iPad).
